ذُو الْكِفْل

His story

Dhul-Kifl is named twice in the Quran: among the patient, with Isma'il and Idris (21:85), and among the best, with Isma'il and al-Yasa' (38:48). The Quran tells no story of his.

Most commentators, among them Ibn Kathir, held that he was a prophet, since he is named among prophets. Mujahid held that he was a righteous man who undertook to judge his people justly, and al-Tabari did not decide. A narration about a man called "al-Kifl" is, according to Ibn Kathir, probably about someone else.
