Their story

The Quran names the companions of ar-Rass among the peoples destroyed for denying their messengers, beside 'Ad and Thamud (25:38; 50:12).

islamweb's fatwa records the scholars' differences over who they were. Ibn Jarir held that they were the people of the ditch of Surah al-Buruj; 'Ikrimah, that they were the people of the town in Ya-Sin; Ibn Kathir thought them a different people. From Ibn 'Abbas it is reported that they lived in a village of Thamud, and also that ar-Rass was a well into which they cast their prophet. The Quran gives no more, so no view is taken here.
