The event
In Ramadan of the tenth year of the mission, Khadija, the Prophet's ﷺ wife and the first to believe in him, died. islamweb's fatwa gives this date and says the year was called the Year of Sorrow.
Sumayya, the first martyr, had died before her, in the sixth year of the mission.
