What it holds

Ibn 'Abbas reports in al-Bukhari that the Prophet ﷺ said no good deeds done on other days are better than those done in these days; asked about jihad, he excepted only a man who went out with his life and wealth and returned with neither.

islamweb's fatwa recalls Allah's oath by the ten nights (89:2), and recommends filling the days with prayer, recitation, remembrance and fasting, the ninth above all; one who will offer a sacrifice leaves his hair and nails from the start of the month.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhul Hijja)." Then some companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Not even Jihad?" He replied, "Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah's sake) and does not return with any of those things
