What it holds

Abu Hurayrah reports in al-Bukhari that the Prophet ﷺ spoke of an hour on Friday in which no Muslim stands praying and asks Allah for something without being given it, and showed with his hand how short it is.

islamweb's fatwa explains that the narrations differ on its time: from when the imam sits on the pulpit until the prayer ends (in Muslim), after 'asr, or the last hour before sunset. Ash-Shawkani held the last hour before sunset to be the strongest view and that of most of the Companions and those after them; others say it was hidden, like Laylat al-Qadr, so that people strive through the whole day.

Narrated Abu Huraira:Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) talked about Friday and said, "There is an hour (opportune time) on Friday and if a Muslim gets it while praying and asks something from Allah, then Allah will definitely meet his demand." And he (the Prophet) pointed out the shortness of that time with his hands
