Loving for your brother what you love for yourself

Faith is not complete until you want for others the good you want for yourself.

Sahih

The hadith

On the authority of Abu Hamzah Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) — the servant of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) — that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: None of you [truly] believes until he loves for his brother that which he loves for himself. [Al-Bukhari] [Muslim]

Lessons

Faith is not complete until you love for your brother what you love for yourself, and dislike for him what you dislike for yourself. It roots out envy, hatred and selfishness, and reaches beyond Muslims in wishing guidance for all people (41:33).

In practice: bear people's harm patiently, share their joys and sorrows, visit the sick, help the needy, and meet people with a cheerful face.
